BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The City of Buffalo is introducing curbside pickup at the Broadway Market in hopes of giving a much-needed boost to a market that's been robbed of its Easter rush because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Shoppers can call vendors to place pre-orders that will be delivered to cars outside the market starting Monday. Orders must be made at least one day in advance.

The weeks leading up to Easter are traditionally the busiest time of the year at the East Side landmark, with shoulder-to-shoulder shoppers a common sight every Good Friday.

The market is home to more than a dozen year-round vendors, including Lupas Meats, Famous Horseradish and Chrusciki Bakery. The permanent tenants depend on the busy Easter season to get them through the rest of the year.

The market is open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Easter Week with social distancing measures in place.
