If you drive down Main Street in East Aurora, you aren’t seeing things. Christmas wreathes, and lights line the street.
The decorations are there on purpose for a Christmas film being shot in the area over the next several weeks. The made for T.V. film is called “A Special Dinner.”
Film executives told 7 Eyewitness News they chose the village because it has things that no amount of Hollywood magic can recreate. “As soon as you step out on Main Street, you feel like you're going back in time. So, it gives us what we call production value or great visuals to put in the movie,” said the film’s Associate Producer, Gerald Webb.
“Vidler’s 5 and 10” is being featured in the film. Several scenes were shot inside the store Tuesday.
Store Co-Owner, Don Vidler said he isn’t compensated by the film for using his store. But, he doesn’t mind. He’s honored the store was chosen. He also believes it is great exposure.
The crew will be in Buffalo for several weeks.
It is also scheduled to shoot at Chef’s Restaurant.
The film will be aired on an unknown channel during the 2019 Christmas season.
