HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — You can now add Christmas in the Country to the long list of events canceled in 2020 because of COVID-19.

The holiday artisan market, which would have filled the Fairgrounds in Hamburg next month with 450 vendors and thouands of shoppers, will instead take on a virtual form. Christmas in the Country at Home will be held November 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. About 150 small businesses are expected to take part.

Live video chats with artisans will also be offered as part of the experience.

Plans are already in the works to welcome shoppers and vendors back in person next holiday season. The 36th Christmas in the Country will take place November 4 to 7, 2021 at the fairgrounds.
