BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Business on Chippewa Street in Buffalo will be coming together to host a socially distant, outdoor Bills viewing party Saturday.

Businesses are working to morph their outdoor dining to accommodate the viewing party, reservations will be required.

During a press conference Tuesday, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said the city would be open to allowing Chippewa businesses to expand their outdoor dining to allow fans to watch the Bills playoff game Saturday.

"Something like that, that is structured, that's managed, where food can be provided, where sanitation is provided, where people are reminded to keep their distance, where people are wearing masks, we would absolutely support something like that. But, we don't want to support mass gatherings that are unstructured where we don't know that people will be safe," said Mayor Brown.

A source tells 7 Eyewitness News the City of Buffalo will make an official announcement Wednesday.

A Facebook post from Rec Room Buffalo says it is partnering with Soho Buffalo to shut down Chippewa and increase its outdoor dining patios.
