BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — An alert neighbor helped crack the case of a string of home burglaries in the northtowns.

Authorities say a woman called police when she spotted a suspicious vehicle on her street in North Amherst on Saturday.

She was able to give police the license plate number as well.

Police later spotted the vehicle and pulled it over.

It was determined the three people in the car were Chilean nationals travelling with forged or fraudulent documents.

Police say search warrants later turned up evidence linking them to the burglaries.

A loaded gun was also recovered.

The suspects are identified as:

-35 year old Christian Antonio Rodriguez Gonzalez of Chile

-36 year old Hector Rene of Chile

-27 year old Angelica Marie Rivera Perez of Chile

All of the defendants are facing a variety of charges.
