GERRY, N.Y. (WKBW) — A three-year-old child drowned in an above-ground pool Monday afternoon in the Chautauqua County Town of Gerry.
State police were responding to a report of a missing child around 4:40 p.m. when the child was found at the bottom of the pool unresponsive.
Troopers and a Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputy tried to resuscitate the child but were unsuccessful.
The child was not wearing a life vest.
State police are investigating.
