CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Cheektowaga police are investigating a deadly, two-vehicle crash on Genesee Street, near Tadio Parkway.
According to police, a 2012 Dodge Journey was eastbound on Genesee St when the driver, 34-year-old Sarah Cole from Buffalo, crossed over into the westbound lanes and struck a 2019 Freightliner deliver truck around 10:45 Wednesday night.
Emergency crews had to cut the woman from the SUV.
Cole's family says she died in ECMC on Monday morning. They've set up a GoFundMe page to help her surviving family members as they grieve and prepare for her funeral.
The driver of the truck had minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
