Cheektowaga man facing charges for alleged violent sexual assault

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced a Cheektowaga man is facing multiple charges for an alleged violent sexual assault.

Officials say 27-year-old Alexander Brewer was arraigned Friday morning on a nine count indictment:

• Two counts of assault in the first degree.
• Four counts of aggravated sexual abuse in the second degree.
• One count of strangulation in the second degree.
• Two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree.

During the late evening hours of October 6 and into the early morning hours of October 7 Brewer allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a female victim and subjected her to sexual contact by forcible compulsion at a location in the Town of Cheektowaga.

It is also alleged Brewer strangled the victim causing her to lose consciousness and subjected her to sexual contact while she was incapable of consent by being physically helpless.

Brewer has been remanded without bail, if convicted on all charges he faces up to 32 years in prison.
