NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Charges are pending after a two-car crash in Niagara Falls.

It happened Thursday around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hyde Park Boulevard and Ferry Avenue.

Police said a woman, 23, from Niagara Falls passed through a red light and was struck by another driver. The woman's car struck a tree before coming to rest off the road.

Police said it appeared the woman hit the windshield due to not having her seatbelt fastened.

The woman was transported to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for injuries to her head, face and back.

The extent of her injuries, what condition she was last reported to be in and her identity were not reported by police.

An investigation into what happened is ongoing.
