BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A common New Year's resolution is to get to the gym, but inside this gym, you won't find a single treadmill. You actually won't find any equipment!
At La'Movement Fitness in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood, you'll dance off your calories with a smile. The playlist trends to upbeat, feel-good, popular music. "We urbanize things a little bit," says owner Lala Woods. Woods says choosing popular music that kids like makes it easier for them to find that dance fitness is something they can enjoy.
While there is a studio space at 1888 Niagara Street, the La'Movement crew is in Buffalo Public schools teaching, at community centers, churches and city events. They try and teach good habits to kids at a young age, showing them them that fitness doesn't have to be a one-size-fits-all approach.
Classes are offered at La'Movement for $10 per class, or $50 monthly for unlimited classes. Private party classes are available as well. You can take anything from a La'X class for clients 18 and up to channel their inner prowess to a La'Abs class, focusing on your core.
