CATTARAUGUS COUNTY (WKBW) — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about a phone scam occurring recently.
The sheriff's office says scam artists have been calling and saying they are from Publishers Clearing House and requesting personal information.
Officials say the scam artists mention places where the individuals have shopped and that's how they were entered into the Publishers Clearing House contest.
They then request banking information so they can allegedly deposit the winnings into the individual's account.
The sheriff's office says if you receive one of these phone calls do not give them any information and call your local police agency.
