NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — A new green space will soon come to downtown Niagara Falls.

Plans for the "Cataract Commons Civic Project" just got the green light, and its developers released renderings of what the space will look like.

It will put permanent seating, shade and an amphitheater on the empty parcel on Old Falls Street, between First Street and Rainbow Boulevard.

The project comes with a $1 million price tag and is being funded with Buffalo Billion II.

It's expected to be complete by next May.
