BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — You may follow them on Instagram, Buffalovebirds has almost 14k followers on social media. They are micro-influencers here in Buffalo.
Starting in 2013, Beau & Lindsay Riggs wanted to capture Buffalo's renaissance. They began blogging about new restaurants and date spots downtown. Now with two kids, the blog and Instagram is still highlighting new places in Western New York but with more of a focus on family friendly spots.
"We share a little bit of everything," Lindsay Riggs said. "It's called micro-blogging when you write a long post... telling a story." Riggs says they have interactions from 5 people to hundreds. Not every post is glamorous, Riggs says posts that do the best are the most real moments when other people can relate to them.
"It's about connecting with people," The Riggs family love sharing advice and funny moments. They say you can do it too, all you need is a smartphone with a camera and some great content.
"I think the family friendly atmosphere that they are building downtown and here in Buffalo in general is just really awesome," Beau Riggs said. Lindsay works at the United Way downtown and Beau is a Financial adviser. They do make additional money by having sponsored posts from brands but they enjoy sharing their lives and connecting with other families.
