BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A food drive for FeedMore WNY got some creative muscle from our community's future leaders.

The Independent Health Foundation had its student advocates put together a video to promote a recent contactless food drive. The students decided to spell out the words "Buffalo Strong" using canned food. They wanted the video to combine a positive message along with the appeal for assistance in supporting FeedMore WNY as it faces staggering demand for food support across the community.

"It's definitely going to help, knowing we are there for those people," said 15-year-old Savannah Jedd.

The Independent Health Foundation says it collected 4,000 pounds of food for FeedMore WNY.

14-year-old Jordan McGuire says compassion was at the core of why she wanted to give back to the community.

"Putting yourself in their shoes and understanding what they're going through during this time," McGuire said.
