GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Grand Island neighborhood gathered Friday morning for a "radiation graduation," celebrating the last day of radiation for a cancer survivor.
Tom Corrao has been battling thyroid cancer and Friday was his last day of radiation.
Due to COVID-19, family and friends were unable to have a party to celebrate, so they decided the "radiation graduation" was the next best thing.
Friends and family lined the street to welcome him home, holding signs of support and encouragement, while cheering him on as he headed home.
