BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The #BuffaloStrong campaign has turned pink for October, and by joining in, you can help raise money for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the American Cancer Society.

WKBW has partnered with Retro Buffalo, to sell special pink edition #BuffaloStrong shirts and hoodies, in which $7 will go towards the Western New York chapter of the American Cancer Society.

About the campaign
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer looks different this fall, but the passion to end breast cancer remains.

COVID-19 could reduce the American Cancer Society’s ability to fundraise by 50 percent in 2020, and supporting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer means that vital research continue.

More than 276,000 women in the United States learn they have breast cancer each year, and in New York state, an estimated 17,540 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.

Breast cancer affects men too, in fact, nationwide, 2,620 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
