BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Rusty Browning was diagnosed with COVID-19 in late March.
This morning he wakes up free of the virus.
Rusty received a heroes welcome as he left St. Joseph's Hospital yesterday after his eleven week hospital stay.
His wife, Doe Browning, said his condition sometimes changed, but his Buffalo Strong spirit is his what kept him going.
"I knew he wasn't giving up, we always tell each other we're not quitters, we have to keep going forward," she said, "If we have a bump in the road you fix the bump, you go over it and you continue on".
Rusty will recover at a rehab center until he is well enough to go home.
