LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — Aunt Robin’s Diner in Lancaster is giving away free Thanksgiving meals for the seventh year in a row.

“Last year, I think we did 105 for Thanksgiving. This year we’re doing probably 412,” Robin Finsterbach, owner of Aunt Robin's Diner, said.

Robin said she did not expect the numbers to be so high this year, but she knew she had to deliver when the calls kept coming in.

“We were gonna cut it off at 300, and I said I can't do that. We have to do it. So, we’ve been working for the past two or three weeks, and we’re making it happen today,” Robin said.

Robin said her family and staff cooked more than 300 pounds of turkey.

“It’s a lot to cook that many turkeys," Robin's daughter Bridget Crooks said. "We only have one oven here, so it's a lot of cooking it at home or doing whatever we can just to get it done.”

On top of that, they also made sides and desserts.

“I couldn’t be prouder of us as a family, as a diner, and it touches my heart just like I hope we do to other people," Robin said.

“You never know if they wouldn't be able to eat today or if they didn’t have anyone to spend the day with, so it's nice to be that for somebody.”
