BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo Public School student was taken into custody on Wednesday after an unloaded handgun was found inside their bag.
A City of Buffalo spokesperson says the 17-year-old attempted to bring an unloaded 9mm handgun into BPS PS 197 Math Science Technology Preparatory on East Delavan Avenue on Wednesday.
According to the spokesperson, the weapon was found during a second search of the student's bag, and the student was then taken into custody.
