BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — In a move meant to save costs the Buffalo Police Department is shutting down its traffic unit.
According to Captain Jeff Rinaldo the traffic unit is being shut down and the officers will be reassigned based on seniority to the five patrol districts.
This move will take effect in the middle of January and impacts around 50 officers.
The traffic unit handles traffic details, parades and festivals.
