BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — It's a long time hockey rivalry - Buffalo Police versus Buffalo Fire. They went face to face at the Harbor Center Saturday to raise money for an additional Buffalo Police K9 officer. City Creatures Animal Hospital launched Blue Line for Buffalo Event where there was also K9 demonstrations, a silent auction and a raffle.

"It's been going on for as long as I can remember. I have 24 years in the department, and it's been going on for at least that long," Vincent Muscarello, a Buffalo Fire Captain, said, "Obviously fire's going to win, no matter what. Everyone likes firemen better."

Muscarello is just a little biased.

"Even though on the ice it's competitive, as soon as the game is over, everyone's friends again and everyone works together very well," said Muscarello, "It's all about the charity. It's all about doing the best we can for the K9 unit. It raises some money for it."

"All ticket sales, donations and the silent auction go straight to the K9 unit," said Dawn Parana, who's with City Creatures Animal Hospital.
