Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight announces its first 2019 flight

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Honor Flight is set to bring 52 local veterans to Washington, D.C. to experience their memorials.

The group includes 12 World War II and 35 Korean veterans who will take this once in a lifetime trip. They come from the Buffalo area, Jamestown, Olean, Southern Ontario, and Bradford, PA.

The veterans take the trip on Saturday, May 4th. The community is invited to an Honor Flight send-off ceremony at the Buffalo Niagara Airport at 5:45 a.m. in the baggage claim area. Can't make the morning? Welcome the vets back at approximately 11:10 that evening.

On the evening of May 4th, the M&T Headquarters at M&T Plaza, the Peace Bridge, the Electric Tower and City Hall will be lit up in patriotic colors.
