BUFFALO. N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo man has been sentenced for shooting a security guard outside a Burger King on the city's east side.

Dwayne Borden, 28, will spend 10 years behind bars for the July shooting. He had been escorted off the restaurant grounds on Broadway near Woltz Avenue after initially refusing to leave. After crossing the street, he turned around and fired multiple shots at the guard. One hit the guard in the thigh, causing him to lose a massive amount of blood. He was treated at ECMC and survived.

Borden was arrested at a nearby home. Officers recovered the gun there days later. Borden later pleaded guilty to multiple charges including first-degree assault.

Once Borden is released, he will be supervised for five years.
