Buffalo man pleads guilty to stabbing at South Buffalo Irish Festival

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced a Buffalo man admitted to a stabbing at the South Buffalo Irish Festival in 2019.

Officials say 20-year-old Michael Monti pleaded guilty to assault in the first degree Tuesday. Monti admitted to stabbing a man in the abdomen at the South Buffalo Irish Festival in Cazenovia Park on September 7, 2019.

Monti is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on Decemeber 3, he has been remanded without bail and could face five to 25 years in prison.

The victim underwent multiple surgeries for his injuries, according to officials.
