Buffalo man pleads guilty to attempted murder charges for samurai sword attack

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to attempted murder charges in connection with a samurai sword attack in March of 2019.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced 61-year-old Benjamin Frost, Sr. pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder in the second degree Tuesday.

Officials say Frost attacked a female victim with a samurai sword with the intent to cause her death inside an apartment at the Kenfield Homes on Edison Avenue on March 27, 2019.

The female victim was taken to ECMC to be treated for cuts to her head, arms, hand, thighs and back. The district attorney's office says she is still recovering from her injuries.

Frost faces a maximum of 25 years in prison, sentencing is schedule for January 13, he is remanded without bail.
