WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police in West Seneca say a Buffalo man left a toddler unattended at a bus stop in order to steal items from a car.

Authorities say 30-year-old Kyle McEvoy is believed to have stolen items from a Rite Aid on Union Road.

According to police, McEvoy became uncooperative and combative with officers and had to be forcibly taken into custody.

McEvoy is being charged with the following

  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree.

The toddler was returned to their mother, and police say the incident is being referred to the NYS Office of Child and Family Services.

McEvoy was released and is expected to return to court at a later date.
