BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — A federal grand jury has indicted a Buffalo man in connection with a home invasion against an elderly couple.

41-year-old Todd Laraba is charged with robbery, conspiracy and marijuana crimes.

Prosecutors say that in September of 2017, two men walked into a home at 540 Harrison Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda, as an elderly couple was watching television.

The victims were tied up and bound as one man stayed with them and the other went into their attic. Shortly afterwards the couple heard the back door close and they looked out to see the men leaving with what appeared to be a lock-box.

Police say they recovered DNA evidence at the scene that later matched Laraba. The Erie County Sheriff's Department, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security were all involved in the investigation, along with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department.

Laraba faces up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted of the crimes.
