Buffalo man in critical condition after 10th reported shooting in eight days

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo police say a man is in critical condition following an overnight shooting, the 10th reported shooting in Buffalo in the last eight days.

A 23-year-old man arrived at Buffalo General Hospital in a civilian vehicle around 1:45 a.m. after he was shot, according to police.

Officials say the shooting occurred on the 300 block of Erie Street, the man was shot after an argument/fight.

The 23-year-old victim was transported to ECMC where he is listed in critical condition.

This was the 10th reported shooting in Buffalo since June 20, 16 people have been shot in those 10 incidents. There has since been an 11th shooting, and an additional victim. Changing the numbers to 11 shootings and 17 victims.

Friday, 7 Eyewitness News spoke with Pastor James Giles with the Buffalo Peacemakers who said a summer spike in violence is common, but the pandemic is an added factor.
