Buffalo house fire ruled an arson, woman rescued after suffering multiple burns

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Fire Department officials are investigating a fire that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Officials say crews responded to 41 Concord Street just before 3 a.m. Wednesday. According to investigators the fire started in a first floor bedroom and a 65-year-old woman was rescued by firefighters from Ladder 5.

"The victim was in respiratory distress and a firefighter rode in the ambulance to further assist," according to fire commissioner William Renaldo.

The woman was taken to ECMC to be treated for multiple burns to her body. One firefighter was injured and has been treated and released from ECMC.

The fire has been ruled an arson, damage is estimated at $70,000.
