BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A rescued dog has a new forever home after recently being saved by Buffalo firefighters.
On August 22, Engine 1, 2nd Platoon was flagged down by a couple who alerted them to an abandoned puppy hiding under a vehicle at the Erie Basin Marina.
When Engine 1 responded, they found the malnourished puppy laying scared under the vehicle.
The dog was taken to a local animal shelter where she recovered for a few days.
After getting healthy, Engine 1 firefighter Kevin Melligan adopted the dog and named her Halligan. The dog is said to be thriving with her new family.
