BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Computer downloads and upload speeds in Buffalo have the slowest speeds in New York.

The Ookla company conducted research to test the broadband speeds in the United States and for each state.
The U.S. ranks 7th in the World for download speed. The data also showed that download speeds increased by 30 percent and upload speeds increased 22 percent in the U.S.

New York state ranked pretty high on the speed test but The Queen City showed the slowest numbers in the whole state.

Comparatively, Buffalo scored a 54 on the ISP speed score test--> which combines the download and upload speed of each provider, while New York City scored a 134.

But Buffalo is not the lowest-- places like Montana, Maine, Wyoming, and Idaho rounded out the bottom because of the low population density where investing in broadband is not worth it.

The study also showed that Spectrum is the fastest internet service provider for Buffalo, N.Y.
