BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — For nonprofit bookstore Dog Ears Bookstore and Café, delivering books to peoples' homes has become the new normal.

"We're just doing the best we can to keep books in peoples' hands," Executive Director Tom McDonnell said.

The store is still operating during COVID-19. Just call ahead and request a book. If the store has it, they can run it to you. If the book is not in stock, they can order it.

"I'll do whatever it takes to keep the business afloat," McDonnell said.

Currently, some of the hottest items are books for Easter baskets.

If you are looking for some suggestions, McDonnell is hoping to point you in the direction of local authors including

  • Lissa Redmond
  • Paul Kane
  • Roger Rainville
  • Rosanne Higgins

Or local publishers such as

  • Rock Paper Safety Scissors
  • No Frills Buffalo
