ELMA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Trampolines aren't just for kids or gymnasts anymore. You can use them in your workout routine!

A new fitness studio in Elma called Primal Rebound is harnessing the benefits of rebound exercise on a small trampoline to make you feel happier and healthier. Jumping on the trampoline is low impact, perfect for taking pressure off your joints. While you're jumping, you're also effectively pushing twice your own body weight to come back up, meaning you're working hard without stressing your body.

"It's been a long time coming," says Roxanne Linton, owner of Primal Rebound. Linton says she used to teach the rebound classes in her neighbor's driveway and at her home for years before this studio became a reality.

The rebound classes are great for people of any fitness level, because exercises can be modified. Linton tore her ACL and is very conscious of creating safe, stable moves to prevent injury. Seniors with joint issues can also sit on the trampoline and get some of the same benefits as those who are jumping.

It's the first studio of its kind in Western New York and a first for its development partner, Landmark. The space Primal Rebound occupies used to be an old church, a creative adaptive reuse. The church altar is now a different kind, allowing an instructor to preach fitness and wellness to clients!

The studio also offers HIIT workouts, spin classes, Les Mills Sprint, Les Mills Body Combat, body bang and yoga classes.
