CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Several Bills fans started their journey Thursday night flying to the Lone Star State for Saturday's Wild Card playoffgame against the Houston Texans.
The Phister brothers gambled and got their tickets before knowing exactly where the Bills were headed.
"We had a feeling it was going to be in Houston, so we booked a couple of weeks in advance to try and beat out the rates. I heard they're going over a $1,000 now," Sean Phister said. He's not wrong. AAA of Western and Central New York said not many seats remain and it could cost you more than $1,100 round-trip to Houston.
"Oh, I'm going to the game. I can't wait," Jonathon Blankenship said. He traveled Thursday night to Houston with a layover in Chicago. The Buffalonian moved to Houston while in the military 7 years ago.
"It's nice to be able to have the people that where I'm going back to, come to watch the Bills play," Blankenship said.
The Doak family is also flying to Houston, but not exactly to see the game.
"We're going to Houston for my brother's wedding, which is at the same exact time as kick off," Amy Doak said. He husband said he will be watching the game on his phone in the back of the church.
Not everyone traveling through Buffalo Niagara International Airport was going to Houston, some were coming home to watch the game with family.
Whether in Buffalo, in Houston or in Houston at a wedding, Bills Mafia is ready for Saturday.
