LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Ruiz family carries their late mother's ashes with them in pieces of jewelry. They made sure to bring them to the Bills game, but lost them at New Era Field.

"She didn't like to come to the cold, but she did like the Bills. I said 'okay, mom, we're going to the Bills'," said Lisa Ruiz of Lackawanna.

Her brother Ryan and her sister Leslie don't usually wear the jewelry out, but they decided to all bring Mom along for Sunday's game against the Jets. This was the first time they'd been together since their mother passed in June.

When they returned home, Leslie couldn't find hers.

"She said 'Oh my God. Mom's missing.; That caught my brother's eye and he went and looked and said 'Mine ain't there either," said Ruiz.

James Rowley, of Orchard Park, was at the game too. On his way into gate seven, he kicked something small on the ground. He realized they were ashes and tweeted out a picture.

Hope Rises shared it on Facebook as well, where Rowley ended up finding Ruiz.

"If it was my ashes and somebody found them, I'd want them to return them to me, so, I figured it was the good thing to do," said Rowley.

But the Ruiz's are still looking for help. One more piece of jewelry is missing. A heart necklace like this one below.

If you find it, call Lisa Ruiz at 716-346-7206.
