BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A benefit has been planned for one of the Buffalo firefighters injured in a fire on Butler Avenue. Firefighter Eric Whitehead continues to recover in ECMC's burn unit after he suffered severe burns to his hands battling the fire.

Whitehead was one of four firefighters injured in the fire, and officials say his burns were the most severe.

On Saturday, February 2nd, a benefit for Whitehead will be held at Blackthorn Restaurant and Pub on Seneca Street in Buffalo. Proceeds from the event will go to Whitehead to help with his children, and his day-to-day needs while he's out of work. The "beer blast benefit" will take place from 6:00 - 9:00pm, and the cost is $25. There will be beer, pizza, wings and music. 50/50 tickets will also be sold. The benefit is being held by Engine 21, Truck 6 and Rescue 1.
