LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) — Thanks to the quick actions of two men, Caiden Moore was able to celebrate his sixth birthday on Saturday.

Before enjoying his birthday cake, he met up with the two people who saved his life: his neighbor, Corey King, and someone he'd never met before, William Bucci.

Corey King and William Bucci were in Upson Park last week as Caiden and Corey's son, Anthony, were riding their bikes on the bike path.

That's where Caiden said he lost control of his bike.

"I fell into the canal. I was like riding my bike, into the grass and then I fell into the canal," he said.

"My dad like he just said did he fall in?" said Anthony. "And then he ran as fast as he could, jumped in the water."

"I just ran up there. Dropped my phone out of my pocket and jumped in..didn't really think about it," said Corey

There is no ladder along wall, so there was nothing for Caiden and Corey to grab onto as they struggled for some time, waiting for a miracle to happen.

Luckily, William Bucci had been fishing nearby.

"I ran down and luckily I was able to lay down and reach down far enough to grab both of them," he said.

"The fact that he was here and at the right place at the right time, you know that's just God all day long," said Katrina Moore, Caiden's mother. "Because had he not been here we don't know how the situation would have turned out."

She said she set up a GoFundMe page for her neighbor to show her gratitude for saving her son.

She also invited Bucci to Caiden's birthday celebration after both rescuing him and buying another bike for him, since his bike fell into the canal.

Both Corey and Katrina said they hope railings are installed along the canal so that nothing like would happen again.
