ELLICOTT, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police have arrested the man they say vandalized two statues that honor comedy legend Lucille Ball. 42-year-old Howard McAvoy of Celoron is charged with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.
Ellicott Police began investigating after receiving a complaint of vandalism in a park. Two statues honoring Ball were found with blue paint on them. Police looked at security footage, then issued a warrant for McAvoy's arrest.
McAvoy faces a Class D felony charge, and was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
