BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Aquarium of Niagara held its first-ever sustainable seafood tasting event Thursday night.
The event is part of an effort by the aquarium to educate the public on conservation issues that impact global waterways and marine life.
The aquarium says more than one-third of the world's fish populations are considered "over-fished" right now.
Eight chefs prepared dishes at individual cooking stations using sustainable seafood allowing attendees the opportunity to sample those creations along with beer, wine and live entertainment.
It was the aquarium's first fundraiser in Erie County.
