Anti-gun violence organization receives more than $677,000 in funding

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The New York State Governor's Office is funding more than $3.1 million to continue SNUG--a program that combats gun violence. Here in Buffalo, Back to Basics, run by Pastor James Giles, will receive $677,980 from the state to help their SNUG program.

The Program Director Billie Webster, said he's ready to continue the work in the community and wants to see gun violence decrease in 2019.

A total of 11 SNUG groups across the state are receiving grants. The state's total investment in SNUG nears $4.78 million, which increased more than $200,000 from 2018.
