CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police in Cheektowaga closed Andrews Avenue Friday morning due to a serious domestic incident.
Authorities set up crime scene tape, closing Andrews Avenue from Genesee Street to Schoedel Avenue for a period of time Friday.
Cheektowaga police say the incident involved a man with a gun, who assaulted a woman.

Police say a female victim is in the hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
The man did discharge the gun during the incident, a search of the area was conducted by several local agencies and the man was taken into custody at a residence on Roma Avenue.
Officers say charges are pending and the investigation continues a this time.
