Railroad bridge on Amsdell Road in Hamburg 'heavily damaged' after it was struck

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — Amsdell Road in the Town of Hamburg has reopened after it was closed earlier on Wednesday because the railroad bridge was struck.

Town of Hamburg Emergency Services said the bridge was "heavily damaged" after it was struck.

The road was closed between Route 20 and Route 5 for a period of time, but has since reopened.

The Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company said the driver is "OK."
