AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Amherst Town Hall is closed Friday due to an issue with the air conditioning system.
The town hall's well water pump and motor used to cool the building failed, resulting in temperatures inside exceeding 95 degrees Friday morning.
Employees who work at the town hall are asked not to report to work. Any previously scheduled appointments for members of the general public will have to be rescheduled.
The town says a contractor will replace the motor Monday.
