AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Town of Amherst has reason to celebrate. The northtowns community has been named the number one place to live in New York State, according to Money Magazine.
The article announced the 50 best places to live by analyzing crime rates, median household income, cost of living, education, diversity and ease of living, which included commute times.
Amherst Town Supervisor Brian Kulpa released a statement, "We are extremely proud to have to have this honor for all of New York State."
The announcement comes as the Amherst community celebrates its 200th anniversary.
