BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — An Amherst man has been sentenced to five years probation for requesting sexually explicit photos of a minor through a social media app.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says on November 29, 2019 52-year-old Erick Guigui attempted to meet a person he believed to be a 15-year-old male at a location on Delaware and Kenmore Avenues in Buffalo. Before the arranged meeting Guigui requested sexually explicit photos from the victim through a social media app.

Guigui pleaded guilty to one count of attempted disseminating indecent material to minors in the first degree on September 30, 2020.

He is also required to register as a sex offender.
