BATAVIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — With Amazon pulling out of their planned NYC HQ2, one WNY politician wants the tech company to know they are open for negotiation.

"I think we (WNY) have a lot to offer," NYS Assemblyman Steve Hawley said, "I think we ought to make that pitch."

Hawley believes they could fit the facility at the Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) in Genesee County. Believing that the billions in tax credits from New York State would be worth it.

"Anytime you can create long term jobs, good pay jobs, is unbelievable."

Amazon said in a statement that the decision to pull out of the NYC HQ does not mean other locations are being considered.

"We do not intend to re-open the HQ2 search at this time. We will proceed as planned in Northern Virginia and Nashville, and we will continue to hire and grow across our 17 corporate offices and tech hubs in the U.S. and Canada."
