BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Amara, the Buffalo Zoo's ocelot kitten is back in action after undergoing eye surgery.

According to zoo officials, Amara sustained a severe laceration to her eye. After consulting with several experts, it was decided that Amara's eye had to be removed. The zoo's veterinary team says her eye has healed nicely and she is back in her habitat with her mother, Ayla.

Officials say. "She hasn't missed a beat and is still as brave as ever. She is also getting bigger by the day and can be seen climbing higher and exploring more."

"Amara's name means “steadfast” and “immortal,” and in her short life, she’s indeed living up to her name."
