BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The public got a chance to take a look at the new vision for one of Buffalo’s most popular parks Tuesday evening.

Developers showed off the updated design plans for the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park.

One of the newest features of the park is a walking bridge that will take people over the I-190 and connect them to surrounding neighborhoods. Developers also want to enhance the park’s athletic fields and open space.

“We're also looking at making more passive space, that's more comfortable. Right now, you just have lawn and trees, there will be a whole new series of paths, there will be undulating hills that people can crawl under and sit and look out at Lake Erie,” says Paul Seck, with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.

The design phase is expected to last another nine months.
