BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo native Benny The Butcher and his cousin Westside Gunn signed a management deal with Jay Z's Roc Nation in early August.

"What I want Buffalo to know and people from our city to know is that the best rappers alive are from right here... and that don't come from me that comes from the legends," Butcher said. "They'd rather work with us than anybody else."

Butchers rise to fame began in 2017 after the BET cypher.

"I got like 5000 followers that night," Butcher said. "And, I gave hope to the city so they got behind me even more."

Not a lot of famous people have come out of Buffalo, so Benny, along with his cousins Conway and Westside Gunn are happy be the reason Buffalo is back on the map.

"It's giving our city a spotlight for other dudes to shine in the future and it's a good thing to be a part of."
