BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County Sheriff's Office says a tip about a large shipment of marijuana going to a home on St. James Place in the Elmwood Village led to a raid Thursday night.

80 pounds of marijuana, $58,000 and an unspecified amount of cocaine was seized during the operation.

Just before the execution of the search warrant, 18-year-old Luke Flattery of Angola was seen leaving the residence with a large duffel bag. He was pulled over for traffic violations near Virginia Street and Whitney Place. A search of his vehicle led to the discovery of 10 pounds of marijuana.

The search warrant was then executed on the St. James Place home of 29-year-old Bennett Marquis where an additional 70 pounds of marijuana, $58,000 cash and an unspecified amount of cocaine was found.

Marquis was charged with four felonies and three misdemeanors, Flattery was charged with one felony count for criminal possession of marijuana, a violation and two traffic tickets.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force, Buffalo Police Department's Narcotics and Intelligence units and Homeland Security.
